FAW Jiefang's Urgent Aid: Standing Together to Overcome Difficulties, China and Myanmar Forge True Friendship with One Heart
At 12:50 (Myanmar time) on March 28, 2025, a powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.9 struck Sagaing Region, Myanmar. After the disaster occurred, FAW Jiefang urgently raised a batch of earthquake relief supplies to fully support Myanmar's earthquake relief efforts.
Rapid Response with the Principle of Putting Lives First
The FAW Jiefang office in Myanmar immediately activated the emergency management plan for overseas emergencies. Company leaders called the Myanmar office at the earliest opportunity, demanding that every effort be made to ensure the safety of employees stationed abroad. They quickly organized all staff to be transferred to low-rise shelters with higher earthquake protection standards and established a 24-hour safety dynamic reporting mechanism to ensure zero casualties among the overseas personnel. At the same time, a cross-border emergency working group was established to connect with Myanmar's disaster relief needs in real time and coordinate the allocation of resources.
Cross-border Collaboration, Conveying the Friendship of Pauk-Phaw with Efficient Actions
Facing the situation of shortages of supplies in the disaster area and interrupted roads, FAW Jiefang, in conjunction with institutions such as the China-Myanmar Economic Cooperation and Development Promotion Association, the China Peace Development Foundation, and Myanmar Bowen School, donated a relief fund of 3,000 US dollars. Among them, 1,500 US dollars was used for the procurement of drinking water, instant food, epidemic prevention supplies, and emergency lighting equipment; and 1,500 US dollars was used, in view of the severe damage to the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway, to hire a professional transportation team. This is to make every effort to ensure that the disaster relief supplies reach the people in the earthquake-stricken area and open up the "lifeline".
Rushing to the Rescue Day and Night, Practicing Boundless Love with a Sense of Responsibility
At 4 a.m. on April 2nd, six FAW Jiefang employees stationed in Myanmar raced against time to complete the loading of relief supplies. They coordinated vehicle dispatching and strengthened the protection of the supplies to ensure that the first batch of rescue convoys set off towards the epicenter at dawn. "There are no national boundaries in the face of disaster. Every second we save means one more glimmer of hope for our compatriots in the disaster area!" said Sun Shicheng, Manager of the FAW Jiefang International Office in Myanmar.
Standing Together through Thick and Thin, Building a Community with a Shared Future with the Corporate Mission
At present, the first batch of relief supplies has arrived in the disaster area and is being distributed. U Aung Kyaw, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education of Myanmar, expressed his gratitude for China's active offer of help, which reflects the profound friendship between the Chinese people and the Myanmar people. At the same time, FAW Jiefang's relief efforts have been reported and commended by People's Daily.
The profound friendship between the Chinese and Myanmar people is like that of siblings, and we stand together and support each other with heartfelt unity. FAW Jiefang will always keep a close eye on the situation of the disaster and work together with the people of Myanmar to overcome the difficulties! We will demonstrate with our actions that "love knows no boundaries, and China and Myanmar are like one big family."
